Here's what I've done so far

SiteMinder

Senior Product Marketing Manager, Jul 2021 – Present
Sydney, Australia

In 2021, I returned to Australia from the UK and joined SiteMinder, the world’s leading provider of hotel commerce and channel management software. As the company was preparing for its IPO later in the year, I was fortunate to be joining at a dynamic and energizing time.

Following the IPO, I played a key role in refreshing and modernising SiteMinder’s brand. I conducted extensive market research and user testing to validate our messaging, pricing, packaging, and market position. In 2022, I was part of a 5-person product marketing team that successfully executed the transition from standalone products to a subscription-based platform. This transition not only improved the customer experience but also drove 15% y/y revenue growth.

Working at SiteMinder has been exceptionally rewarding as I have been fortunate enough to work on new products and features that have helped to improve the day-to-day lives of over 32k hoteliers, across 160 countries.

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Senior Marketing Manager, Jan 2019 – Dec 2020
Oxford, United Kingdom

In 2019, I made the move to the UK and joined the prestigious Said Business School, where my focus was on attracting top-quality candidates by developing and aligning the marketing strategy for 13 degree-based programs and 30 executive education programs.

To achieve this, I dove deep into the higher education industry by conducting extensive market research and student interviews. This gave me a clear understanding of our target market, which I used to work with cross-functional teams to create an omnichannel lead generation strategy that exceeded our lead targets by 120%.

During my time at Said Business School, I was also fortunate enough to play a key role in the launch of a new postgraduate program in Artificial Intelligence. This program helped the school generate an impressive £1M in annual revenue in its first intake, a testament to the success of our marketing efforts.

I also greatly enjoyed the fact that my role allowed me to contribute directly to identifying and recruiting the next generation of future business leaders and am proud to have worked for a school with such an strong focus on social impact.

Reckon

Product Marketing Manager, Mar 2016 – Jan 2019
Sydney, Australia

I began working at Reckon several months after the launch of Reckon One, the company’s first SaaS online accounting product. In this role I was responsible for developing and implementing a product strategy to augment user growth and enhance the user experience both on the website and within the product.

During my time at Reckon I had the privilege to lead a cross-functional team focused on improving the onboarding process for new Reckon One users. We carried out a comprehensive redesign of the sign-up process and completely revamped the marketing automation experience for users. The result was a 25% increase monthly subscriptions and a corresponding uplift to monthly recurring revenue (MRR).

At Reckon, I had my first experience with corporate philanthropy. I championed the organisations involvement with the Pledge 1% programme that encourages organisations to donate 1% of their products, employee time and equity to charitable causes. I also led the organisations involvement with the Leukaemia foundations and organised a team to support the foundations World’s Greatest Shave event.

Mainpac

Marketing Executive, Jul 2013 – Mar 2016
Sydney, Australia

My career started at a relatively small asset management software company called Mainpac back in 2013. Mainpac was a leader in its field, providing best-in-class enterprise asset management software to asset intensive organisations in the Energy, Ports and Terminals, and Mining industries.

Mainpac was a great place to start a career – I had the opportunity to gain experience on a range of marketing projects, coordinate with regional partners around the world and get hands-on with marketing campaigns and digital initiatives. I set up the companies search advertising, rebuilt their website from scratch and led a project to refresh the brand image.

While working at Mainpac was at times demanding and I often felt as though I’d been ‘chucked in the deep end’, the period was immensely formative and I wouldn’t trade my time there for anything. I had the opportunity to work with some very knowledgably people, gain experience in a diverse range of industries and coordinate campaigns on an international scale.

University of Oxford

Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business, earned January 2020
Oxford, United Kingdom

I went into the PG Diploma in Global Business at Oxford with the desire to learn more about competition strategy and global markets. At Reckon, I had experienced both a corporate merger (MYOB) and the market entry of a omnipotent global competitor (Intuit) and it had become clear to me that effective marketing strategy couldn’t simply be seen through the narrow lenses of brand messaging or sales activation.

What I gained from my time at Oxford however was far more than I could ever have expected. The programme not only delved deeply into market based strategy, it also explored the non-market environment, entry strategies, especially in emerging markets, and how to analyse complex risks and reputational threats. I also learnt an immense amount about leadership in a global context, drawing on the expertise of both the world-class professors at Oxford, as well as the skills and knowledge of my highly experienced classmates.

University of New South Wales

Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), earned December 2012
Sydney, Australia

My four years at the UNSW presented me with the opportunity to build both a foundational knowledge of business and marketing as well as the ability to think analytically and critically about problems. I was challenged to learn and apply quantitative techniques in real world scenarios and was regularly pushed beyond my comfort zone by the academically rigorous challenges that the BComm presented.

The degree was both wide-ranging in the scope of the subjects it provided as well as deep in terms of it’s academic curriculum. While I majored in Marketing, I took subjects ranging from business law through to advanced quantitative analysis. In addition to the core curricular I was also involved with a range of societies and groups including the Marketing Analysis society, and the University’s Skiing society (NewSki).

From UNSW I gained not only a wealth of knowledge and practical skills but a deep seeded love for learning and a great network of friends and peers.
